SSIP & Other Scheme Accreditations

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) was created to form a mutual recognition scheme for occupational health and safety standards particularly within construction. SSIP helps and facilitates recognition between health and safety pre-qualification schemes saving time, effort and cost of multiple certifications and in many cases offers a “Deemed To Satisfy” (DTS) route for other scheme accreditations if you’ve been fully accredited to one recognised scheme.

 

Many major clients such as Councils, Principal Contractors (PC’s) and Larger Corporates now require Contractors to undergo pre-qualification to determine their suitability to tender as part of their “Approved Supplier Procedures”. The pre-qualification process can be greatly reduced if an organisation has already accreditation to a SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) scheme such as Safe Contractor (Alcumus), CHAS, SMAS or Constructionline (Acclaim) although many clients such as PC’s and LA’s (Local Authorities / Councils) may require additional information on their own web based portals or PQQ’s (Pre-Qualification Questionnaires).

Other Scheme Compliance Services

SWS provide support for companies wishing to attain a number of other service sector schemes such as Achilles UVDB / Verify, Building Confidence and various SSIP accredited schemes. Again we have achieved a 100% pass rate with many of our clients for these additional schemes. These are usually sought after and driven by Clients, Local Authorities and/or Principal Contractors as their supply chain validation process for inclusion onto Approved Suppliers Lists.
